13.May.2009 Another fruity vegan tattoo

Hey all,

You may not already know this but I absolutely adore birds.  I often spend 30 minutes a day watching the hijinks of local grackles, goldfinches, robins and turkey vultures.  So it is with happiness that I post our first vegan bird tattoo.

This submission comes from Jenny in Chicago who writes:

“I’m attaching a pic of my vegan tattoo. I came up with the idea of the tat myself. I got it last year in Detroit by a friend – Tom O. of Kustom Kulture Tattoos.”

I guess veganism is for the birds?

I guess veganism is for the birds?

Jenny has been vegan 5 years now and vegetarian 8 before that.  Way to go.

I love birds too! And thanks for making this blog–it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. I don’t have any tattoos yet but we’ll see…!

Yes and not really. It’s baciaslly a water mixture with the starch extracted from the rice. Draining the rice is one way to get it but it does not give you the full benefit since it does not contain ALL the nutrients. So you boil the? rice with a more than usual quantity of water so the rice doesn’t soak all the water in. The leftover water is rice water. I hope my explanation is clear and helpful ;o
